The project Aviapark lies in the urban development site “ChodynskojePole“ in the most northerly Moscow district. It is approx. 7 km from the Kremlin on a former airfield to the north-west of the Garden Ring. The Aviapark is being constructed to the north of the runways. The National Museum for Aviation and Space Travel and a large shopping precinct form the heart of the complex.
BRT plans two multi-functional buildings with a total gross floor space of approx. 400,000 sq. m. that frame the museum to the west and east and form equally ranking conclusions to the urban design. In the eastern part of the plot offices and a 4 – 5-star hotel with the corresponding facilities are planned. For the western part of the plot mainly office and apartment homes are proposed.
Both projects consist of three main building modules. On the one hand an approx. 90-metre-high, transparently designed block of buildings that concludes the urban design and provides office utilisation. A ramp developing from the landscaped park and covered with grass to walk on is built on a two-storey pedestal intended for public utilisation. Over this pedestal hovers the eight-storey apartment building which extends to the edge of the block and has a strongly horizontally accentuated façade of white natural stone.
