The office building complex with a large retail unit on the ground floor is located in the City-Süd in the district of Hammerbrook. After the successful refurbishment, modernisation and resealing, the complex comprises two seven-storey buildings on the Wendenstraße and the Mittelkanal, the eight-storey existing building originating from 1962 on the Hammerbrookstraße and a four-storey connecting building on the boundary to the neighbour.
The heart of the newly designed extensive complex with its garden courtyard and internal connections is the address that has been redesigned with a modern stainless steel façade with open access to the garden courtyard and to the Mittelkanal via outdoor steps and an open storey. Old and new buildings are connected with each other with a view to the requested letting options.
The perforated façade in the axis grid of 1.35 metres and two-part window units comprising opening casement and a casement with fixed glazing, comprises positive and negative curved, high-gloss stainless-steel strips superimposed on a weather-proof skin. These strips overlap each other both horizontally and vertically to form an organic trellis. Plasticity and depth, and last but not least the resulting light and reflection effects, give dynamic accentuation to a basically simple structure and thus create a fascinating, three-dimensional object.
