The circular form of the Stadtpark Tower rises high above the treetops and roofs of Hamburg-Alsterdorf. Located directly adjacent to the Police Headquarter building (also by BRT), the 43 metre high tower impresses in particular with it’s zig-zag-facade, which is offset from storey to storey. Open and closed elements alternate throughout and suggest a sense of dynamic and change. Essentially, the building is divided into three sections: the ground floor, ten standard floors and an attic storey. All office storeys are identical: the elevators, stairs and conference rooms are in the central core; star-formed corridors lead to the office spaces, which all lie on the outside of the building. Thus, the use of artificial lighting can be reduced to a minimum, and the rooms can be naturally ventilated via openable windows. Those who are not satisfied with the view, need only go to the attic storey: from here, the surrounding glass facade and the rooftop sun terrace offer impressive views over the Stadtpark, the city centre, and the distant airport.
