The Police Headquarter building in Hamburg resembles a sheriff’s badge. The six-storey building, standing on pilotis, which was awarded the first prize in an investor-led competition, is characterised by the ten star-shaped wings radiating from a central ring. The ground floor, which extends into the spaces between the wings, serves as the main circulation level for the offices in each of the individual wings. In addition, all of the special functions such as the canteen are located here. With it’s green roofs, particularly those over the single storey parts of the building between the wings, the building adapts itself to the green surroundings along the S-Bahn, which lies to the north of the site, and it offers all employees a pleasant view.
