Projects / Office buildings / - Grimm6 office building
The historic buildings along Hamburg’s Fleet - the historic canal in the city centre - are packed tightly together. The office building Grimm 6 at Nikolaifleet, is also influenced from the traditional scale: the building takes it’s narrow and tall proportions, the number of storeys and it’s vertical emphasis, which is expressed in a building set-back reaching into the roofscape, from the proportions of the historical buildings. Workplaces are situated directly at the facades throughout the six office floors, thus ensuring that generous amounts of daylight enter the building through the storey-high glazing. The stairwell, elevator and service zones lie within the core of the building. The building ends rather specially in the upper floors: with a two-storey loft. It’s “big screen”, with a two-storey glass facade, cantilevers out over the floors below and offers spectacular views along the Nikolaifleet.
